I had the privilege to work with the new set called Morty Camping. In the set you will receive 4 cool images in jpg, png and tif. The images are a frying pan, a lantern, a worm on a hook (sew cute!) and Morty toasting a marshmallow by a campfire.

I am totally excited to share these projects with you. There are a lot of pictures, therefore some will be kind of small. You can simply click on any photo to see it full size :o)

My first project is a Smores Kit. How could I not make one with an image like this, LOL

Oh my gosh, isn't he so cute! I combined the images with the Gina Winder flannel digital paper pack from D.A.I.S.I.E onto the In A Pinch template from Lauren Meader in Photoshop Elements 6. For the sticks with marshmallows around the top, I cropped them off of the Morty image. After printing, all I had to do was color the images, cut out the pattern and put it together. I did the same thing for the tag, but did not need a template for it. Here are some other photos:

For my next project I made recipe cards using recipes that I thought kids may like. For these, I also used Bear Chef, Eris and Cammi With Cake, January Champaign and Cammi Bookworm. When the cards were complete, I used laminating paper to laminate them.

Apple Blossom Card With Bookmark

Have you ever had a card or project that you were certain would be simple and it ended up being...well....grrrr? That is this card for me. I started it on Saturday, my day to take it slow and enjoy playing since Paul went out target shooting. For some reason I had the hardest time matching up paper to go with the image. I suppose if I had colored it myself, I would have chosen colors that would be easier to match with my current stock. This image, though, was one printed from the Crafts U Print site.

The brown shimmer paper is from the Paper Temptress Metallic line and is called copper (but it looks brown to me, LOL)

You can see the wonderful shimmery/glittery look of the paper in the photo below.

See the layer below it with all the swirls. I love this paper. Paper Temptress sells this in white. The best thing about white is you only need that one color. This paper takes ink so well, you can create any color or pattern on it you would like.

I actually used this very metallic paper for my daughters wedding invitations over 2 years ago. I had to drive 1 1/2 hours away to find it. Boy was I glad when I found the Paper Temptress. I can get the paper I love and not leave the house, LOL

 

 
Here are some details about this card.

I printed 2 sheets, cut out both bookmarks and adhered them back to back. I covered the edges with a Krylon copper marker and then laminated it. 

The cord was originally silver, so ran the copper marker over it and let it dry for a couple of minutes. The cord was used to attach the charm and tied through the hole along with the ribbon.

The charm was actually pewter. To make it match the card, I used my copper marker. These markers cover so well and dry almost instantly.
I had 2 of these charms so I was able to add one to the card front and one to the bookmark. It reads "There are always flowers for those who want to see them".

The apple blossoms are paper tole. The image prints with 3 layers. I wanted to make a fourth layer for the part of the petals that were curled up. Using the extra sheet, I cut the shaded sections and adhered with dimentionals (as I did the rest of the image)

To have a place to put the bookmark, I did not add adhesive to the upper right corner of the middle inside layer. The bookmark slides right in leaving the ribbon out or tucked in if preferred. The charm can be left dangling either way. I added the sentiment to the back of the card front leaving plenty of room for a personal message.

As a bonus for all the hard work, ha ha ha, Splitcoast Stampers Monday Try A New Technique Challenge (TLC268) is to make a bookmark card!

Making Stickers With Digital Stamps

 When my kids were little, they absolutely LOVED to have band-aids on. I noticed, while walking down the "band-aid" isle the other day, it appears they now sell band-aids just for that purpose, LOL  

When the kids got a bit older, the boys seemed to still like band-aids because they made sure they always had at least one scrap or cut to be covered. My daughter graduated to stickers though. She LOVED any little picture that was sticky on one side. She also loved them everywhere, even on the furniture, sigh. Raise you hand if you have a child who has made a sticker display out of an unapproved piece of furniture or wall!

As I reminisced, the thought occurred to me that I could make some stickers with the most adorable squirrels and rabbits I know, the Digital Stamp Oasis images.

  Look at all those stickers I made out of one sheet of adhesive paper I bought from Papertrey Ink. I was able to create 5 of the images in 2 sizes. You can click on any of the photos to enlarge them and see more detail.

Not only are they cute and fun stickers, but the little girl can color and personalize them herself. How fun is THAT!

Once she is finished coloring and showing off her masterpieces to her parents, where will she put them? She really needs a place to keep them other than the walls or furniture, lol. Something made just for the stickers so she can look at them whenever she wants to.

I decided to make a sticker book keep her stickers. I also covered a colored pencil box to match the book so she would have something to color the stickers with. You can see a bit of the inside of the book in the previous pictures. Also, you will notice that I colored one of the images to be the very first one in the book. Here are some pictures of the sticker book set.

Digital Stamp Calendar

Not to long ago I purchased a blank digital calendar from D.A.I.S.I.E. Company. This calendar came in a wonderful package with both the .jpg and .png files. Though it is the 2nd month of the year, I wanted to make a calendar to keep in my craft room. I spend a lot of time in there and it is so easy to forget what day it is, LOL

I did start this project previously, having printed it out about 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I finally finished it and can hardly wait to hang it in my room. Now there will be no reason for any project to feel neglected for 3 weeks!

I used the Wink Wink Ink images for this calendar. Not only are they adorable, she has a big enough variety of images to use  for the 12 months. The images come with one each .jpg and .png as well as a colored image. I chose to use colored images for the cover and August (why just August? Phhhhh, IIIIIII'daknow, LOL) The rest of the calendar I used the transparent images in the .png format and colored with my copics.

This is the cover of the calendar. You can can click on the photo to get a better look at the colored images. I used my Bind-it-all so that the pages will move freely when changing the month. I chose the larger eyelets because they had a bigger hole for hanging. You can always use the smaller eyelets to strengthen the paper for hanging, since the larger ones do make the calendar more bulky.

Aren't those images perfect for this project! And they were really fast to color since they are so small. Due to the lighting, the grid of the calendar looks like it did not print out properly in some areas. This is just an illusion, LOL. In real life the grid printed out beautifully.

I am using this project for this weeks challenge, #27, on Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge , which is based on the scripture Esther 4:14:

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?"

The challenge is to make something using a time piece or something denoting time or the passage of time. What a perfect time {{[wink}}} to finish this fun project.

Being A Featured Stamper

WOW, I have never been a featured stamper before, BUT...today I am.

Graduation

I remember when my kids went from kindergarten to first grade. In NH, there was not public kindergarten at the time. They would go to a daycare type environment where older kids would go for before and after school care.  When the kindergartners graduated it was so exciting to them to be going to school with the "big" kids.

Not only that, but they got their own desks! No more sharing tables. They could keep their "stuff" with them all the time! That is what I thought of when I saw this image by Digital Stamp Oasis.  A nice crayon box that a little girl could keep in her first school desk.

Most kids have been in school for a few months by now, but this would still be a nice suprise for them with brand new crayons. I remember that by now, my kids crayons would be small and often broken.

One of the wonderful things about digital stamps is that you can size them for your project. (you can see my post here for more information) Since I used the small band-aid tin, I needed the image to be quite small. I could not have accomplished this with a rubber or acrylic stamp.

 These squirrels are so cute, and what fun to color! Even for us adults, LOL. Since they are able to be resized, you can print it out larger so that your little one can color it with their new crayons. OR...you can even have them help you print one out.

How proud will they be to hang it on your refrigerator, LOL. They can even make their own card to give to their new teacher!

Another Dust Bunny

Oh My Gosh!!! I was in my craft room all day today and accomplished nothing :o( Not one thing I tried came out, at one point I even threw the whole thing away. There was just no salvaging the thing. I have had bad days crafting, but....by far this was the worst. Please tell me that I am not alone in this. That other crafts have worked for hours only to end up with nothing!

I did make a project last night that came out. I am so glad I had something new to look at today or I think my mojo would have been tossed with todays project, LOL.

If you read yesterdays post, you know that "Dust bunnies are our friends". Can I say that I love this stamp and sentiment from Wink Wink Ink. I did not think that just a card would suffice in reminding me (and my husband!!) of this revelation. So I made myself this as a daily reminder.

 I printed the stamp at 2 x 2", colored and then cut out to approximately 1 1/2 X 1 1/2".  I prepared the tumble tile by using some white acrylic paint, swirling the brush to make a pattern with the paint. I used Aleen's tacky glue to adhere the image to the tile when it was dry. I finished it off with 3 coats of glossy mod podge.

I added 4 small Magcraft Rare Earth Disk Magnets. I purchase these from Amazon here . The size I used are the 1/4 x 1/10 of an inch, which cost 10.39 for 50. I know that one of the slightly larger or 2 of this size would have been sufficient, but I wanted the magnet to have one on each corner. It really drives me crazy when I used a magnet only to have it cover the item because the "magnet" is in the middle. Know what I mean, LOL

Here she is on my refrigerator holding up a very important item...coupons to Bertucci's, one of my all time favorite restaurants, tee he he Could there be a better item for her to hold up for me???

I truly hope your day has been a much better one than mine. I do, though, plan on having a much better day crafting tomorrow.
