Why have I been doing that has dept me so busy? Well, I have actually been working on transfering my blog to Blogger. I can hardly wait until it it finished, which will be very soon.

Here is mine that did not make it into the actual challenge post. Now, I am stretcing the challenge just a tiny bit. But...I think of prayer and singing unto the Lord at food for the soul. It helps the Christian to grow closer to Him as well as gives them strength to continue on day to day.

 I am not so sure this is the type of food that the challenge is talking about, but it is food for me. Sooo...

Welcome to the Sew Many Cards Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sew Many Cards blog hop which will run from Friday, April 30th to Thursday, May 6th.

I had the privilege to work with the new set called Morty Camping. In the set you will receive 4 cool images in jpg, png and tif. The images are a frying pan, a lantern, a worm on a hook (sew cute!) and Morty toasting a marshmallow by a campfire.

I am totally excited to share these projects with you. There are a lot of pictures, therefore some will be kind of small. You can simply click on any photo to see it full size :o)

My first project is a Smores Kit. How could I not make one with an image like this, LOL

Oh my gosh, isn't he so cute! I combined the images with the Gina Winder flannel digital paper pack from D.A.I.S.I.E onto the In A Pinch template from Lauren Meader in Photoshop Elements 6. For the sticks with marshmallows around the top, I cropped them off of the Morty image. After printing, all I had to do was color the images, cut out the pattern and put it together. I did the same thing for the tag, but did not need a template for it. Here are some other photos:

For my next project I made recipe cards using recipes that I thought kids may like. For these, I also used Bear Chef, Eris and Cammi With Cake, January Champaign and Cammi Bookworm. When the cards were complete, I used laminating paper to laminate them.

Child Money Hold and a Re-do

I don't often give a child 4-5 years old money for an occasion such as a birthday. Sometimes, though, there is no other choice. It never fails to make their face shine when they see a "big" number on a  bill which is such fun.

Yesterday I posted a card made with one of the Some Odd Girl images. They are sponsoring the Digital Tuesday Challenge this week. When going through their stamps, I could not choose just one to use. They are all so adorable.

Today I used the cutest dog called Lil Puppy Walks. The first thing I thought of when I saw him was a child's card. I have very few of this theme in my stash of cards so that made it the perfect choice.

I colored him very simply since that is how most child cards I have seen are. I also think that children that age associate with that type of coloring on an image. 

he he he, I love his little toy. I bought this a while ago to make a scrapbook page about my doxie. It still hasn't happened, but I found this and the bone sticker as I was going through my stash. This image was just crying for these!

Look at that big number on the bill. Wow, it has not 1 but 2 digits, lol. If I were 5 years old this bill would instantly make me feel so grown up!

Onto my RE-DO. Last Tuesday, I posted a TV Guide/magazine holder. As I said in the post, I was not happy with the image background. Since I adhered it with the very strong Scor-tap, I did not think I would be able to get it off. Well...I did! Here is the "new" one, LOL

I definitely like this much better. I used a smaller piece of wood and left off the gold "shine" around him. I also added the DAD! with a frame.

 

As you can see, the rest remained the same. I still love the charm. It seems so funny to me with the image, LOL

Shaped Card and Lots of Flowers

I have 2 projects to share with you today. Yesterday I said I would post a project using one of the Some Odd Girl stamp. I chose to use the digital stamp from the Mae line.

Oh My, isn't she adorable. I had such fun coloring her. For some reason she reminds me of my sons girlfriend, LOL, and she is just as sweet as this image is. 

I don't usually use bright colors, but this image would not have been the same in pastel or earth tones. I don't know if you can see it in the photos (you can always click on them to see a larger version) but there is a lot of glitter on the paper I chose. How about THAT, bling with no work, LOL

I think she is really sweet, so I entered her in this weeks Pile it on challenge~~~Make is sweet

My next card uses the really cute image from Sew Many Cards called Halen With Hat. She can be purchased with Pack #6. There are 8 packs to choose from and they all have some really nice images that are no longer available to purchase individually. Remember, the packs are only $5.00 currently, with the normal price being $25! Talk about a great deal. Halen with Hat is still available to purchase individually for only $1.75

Isn't she adorable. I added some liquid pearls to her necklace to give them some dimension. I also put a rhinestone on her bow, LOL 

 

The dress pattern is from The Cutting Cafe'. Since the front is rather heavy, I applied some crystal effects along the inside of the fold and let it dry. Now it has a nice strong fold so it shouldn't rip. The inside sentiment says "It takes courage to grow up to become who you really are". As she is playing dress up with the big girl clothes, I am sure she is wondering when she will be big enough to wear the lovely hats and dresses. That is why I put her on a dress pattern, to represent what she is daydreaming about.

TV Guide or Magazine Holder

Hello everyone, it is time for another Digital Tuesday Challenge. This week our challenge is brought to us by Lora. Her challenge: ANYTHING BUT A CARD.

Another thing you will surely to be glad you know about! I will have to decided which image to use first. Though cute is not my usually style, I have been using them a lot lately. When I looked for which imagee I wanted for free, I could not decide on just one. So I bought 3 more, LOL

For my "anything but a card" I thought long and hard. Then...I came across this wonderful image and a great cause. Instantly I knew what I was going to make and make it with part of my stash I have had for over a year! YUP...I have stuff that old, LOL.  How about you??? Do you have items you were sure you NEEDED, then did not remember what project you saw that required it? And...now it is still sitting in your stash. This challenge is the perfect time to use them.

My husband is always leaving several magazines on his living room side table. They even over flow onto the floor some times. And...when I want the TV Guide, I need to search for it, LOL What he needs near his table is a TV Guide/Magazine holder by his chair. So that is what I made using one of those really large clothes pins.

I must say that I am not sure how I like it. Actually, just part of it would I like to redo, the background behind the image. using the ultra strong Scor-tape, there is no way it is going to come off though.

See that most adorable stamp of our husband! I printed out 5 images, colored, cut and adhered together for a really nice dimensional look.

I must have been tired that day I made this. I forgot another thing. Usually I go around the edges of my cut layers with my black copic marker, but forgot this time. It really makes a difference, especially in the photos. In real life it is hard to tell unless you look hard.

I wanted to use a charm on it for one of the challenges I wanted to do, so I checked out my stash and look what I found! Bwaaaa ha ha ha...I thought this would have a new meaning with the image.
 
 Even my husband who seldom laughs but does give a small chuckle every now and then, laughed about it. So I guess it is as funny as I thought it would be.

Onto why I used this image. While checking out last weeks entries and leaving comments, I ran across a post about this image. Here is what she says about it on her blog Crafty Emma:

"You may or may not be aware that my Dad died last September following an accident at work...in his memory my family & I are raising funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance charity. Whilst chatting to Paula from Pollycraft about the fund raising she did the most amazing thing and offered to draw a special edition digi for me in Dads memory. I gave Paula a brief on my Dad and here is...''Ronnie Relaxing''

He is not only adorable but funny too. The perfect image  for making a paper tole card.

Make Your Own Rub-On Tutorial

After posting my hummingbird window ornament using Grafix rub-onsand copic markers, I decided to see how they would work with my Prisma color pencils. As I was making it, I thought it would be fun to a tutorial for those who have not used this rub-on kit before.

The kit comes with 2 types of paper. The more transparent sheet is the one you run through your printer. I has a matte side and a shiny side. You print your image on the matte side.

The second sheet is the adhesive sheet that will be used when your image is ready. This sheet also has 2 different sides, one shiny and one opaque white.

The first step is to print your image, of course, LOL. You will want to make sure you print on the MATTE side.

The image I used here is from KLM Designs called Sunflower Windowpane.

Then you color in your image. I found that the prisma markers worked much better for the look I wanted to achieve. While the copic markers came out MUCH softer, the Prismas came out just a tad darker.

The first image I tried to color turned out like this. Boy, was I glad I always print 2 in case I mess the first one up.

For this one, I tried using my Prisma blending pencil in the center. The only thing it accomplished was to cause the green to become bluish. Weird.

I don't know how gamsol, baby oil or goo gone would would since all I use with my Prismas is the Prisma blender pencil.

When you are finished coloring in the image, you will want to cut it out.

Try to cut it as close to the image as possible, other wise the extra adhesive around the edges could leave a shadow around the image after transferring it.
 
 

 
Cut out a piece of the adhesive sheet just a bit larger than your image. Here I cut mine to big. You will want to avoid this as it makes it very difficult to work with. (NOW I know, LOL) With the sheet on your work area, white side up, remove the white liner. The bottom will be VERY sticky so try not to get your finger prints on it. You can see where I did on the edge of mine.

 Leave the adhesive sheet on your work table with the sticky side up. Place your image, colored side down, onto the adhesive sheet. Turn over and rub well with a craft stick. You will see when the adhesive has transfered. Make sure to get the edges well. I forgot to here and you can see how the adhesive is jagged. 

 
  Place the image, adhesive side down, onto the material you are transferring it onto. I chose to use another microscope 2 x 2" slide.

Again, rub with your craft stick until image is completely transfered. You will definitely know when you are finished. You can see I ran my craft stick in the center really quick and that section is already adhered.  

I also found that the liner kind of pops off when you are finished that area, so you will want to hold it tightly to make sure it does not rip the parts still needing to be transfered. You will see at this point that it will work pretty much like any other rub-on.

Remove the liner carefully. If you see any air bubbles, just lower the liner back down and rub them to the edge of the image. They should disappear.

Since I was using the microscope slides without anything between the 2 slides they would not fit in the premade frame without jiggling.

My fix for this was to run the memory foil tape around the edges. I forgot to take a photo of it. I wrapped it around all 4 sides. I could have left them like this since that is what the tape is for. I chose, instead, to use the frame so I would not have to glue an "o" ring to the back of the slide. With no paper, it would show to the front and look yucky, LOL

The tape worked like a charm and the slides are nice and secure in the frame.

On the right is the ornament colored with the Prisma pencils. You can see that the rubbing caused the colors to blend just enough, so there won't be a need to do it before hand.

The one on the left is colored with copics. There is no blending at all here. The ink stayed to wet and one color only pushed the other away.

I think both are nice. It would depend on your individual taste as to which way you would prefer.

I hope this gives a good idea about how well this product works. I was a bit leary to try it, but am glad I did.

Sew Many Cards Challenge #12

The challenge this week is a really fun one: ANYTHING GOES! This is my favorite type of challenge. It really lets the creative juices flow.

 

With the wonderful image from KLM called Make Our Own Globe, you can change the size then add any image inside that you want. You can add a digital image before printing or you could add a stamped image after printing. Either way, you will have made your own.

 

 

I combined the globe image with the sentiment from the KLM set Lily. After sizing I inserted the Sew Many Cards image Sandcastle.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I coated the "glass" of the globe with Crystal effects. I applied it with a paintbrush to keep the coat thin. I also wanted to make the brush strokes follow the shape of the globe to give the appearance of rounded glass rather than just the shine of glass. You can see in the above photos that the light reflects off the globe in a more circular pattern giving it more of a 3 dimensional appearance.
